The number of users of MAIB Internet Banking and operations through this system has continued to grow steadily in recent years, indicating a rising interest of customers for remote services. According to the results, in 2016 the total number of subscribers to MAIB Internet Banking has increased by 16%, while the system operations have increased by 40% year-on-year.

Over 764,000 financial transactions were carried out through Internet Banking during 2016. Customers have used Internet Banking for domestic transfers in MDL, foreign currency transfers, card transactions, deposits, loan repayment, bill payments for goods and services to suppliers (including utilities), scheduled payments, checking account status, obtaining statements of accounts and enquiring exchange rate etc., their number is up 66% on the previous year. Informative hits increased by 39% and exchange rate enquiries by 26%. It is worth noting significant increase in the popularity of foreign exchange transactions (Forex). In 2016 they amounted to 9% of the total transactions.

Banking data from recent years show a growing interest in remote services, Internet Banking is being used increasingly by the MAIB customers throughout the country, from Lipcani to Vulcăneşti. Mobile Banking and Internet Banking has become very popular. Through mobile our customers can conduct the same range of banking operations as Internet Banking, except that they can do those conveniently using their mobile phone. MAIB has organized all remote banking services them into MAIB ON-LINE menu for easy access, which can be accessed directly from the bank's homepage www.maib.md.
